About the Artist
Laura Lin is a contemporary watercolor artist based in Maryland, specializing in portraiture and figurative work. She holds a BA in Studio Art and has exhibited in juried group shows.
Her work explores the subtle inner worlds that are hidden from view. Through delicate linework, and luminous layers of watercolor, Laura creates visual spaces where sensitivity, vulnerability, and emotional depth are brought into focus.
Drawn to watercolor for its “wildness” and mystery, she embraces the medium’s fluid, unpredictable nature to express the nuanced layers of emotion and spirit. Her paintings invite stillness and reflection, offering a visual language for what we sense but rarely put into words.
Influenced by artists such as Klimt, Mucha, and the Pre-Raphaelites, Laura is drawn to beauty as a form of truth and softness as a form of strength. Her work explores themes of innocence, grief, loss, identity, and spiritual transformation, revealing the emotional and spiritual depths of the human experience.
